About
Jill Hallett geeks out about the intersections of language, education, and access. A former CPS high school teacher, Jill is a fierce advocate for people who are marginalized because of their languages and literacies, particularly in educational settings. Her current projects include analyzing the linguistic landscapes of multilingual, multicultural schools and communities, co-constructing literacy materials for language maintenance among refugee communities, and interrogating policies and practices that enable institutional gatekeeping. She loves helping students formulate research questions and seeing their ideas manifest into authentic, game-changing projects that go beyond the classic term paper.
